We’ve been hearing a lot about “change” lately.  We hear that we need “change” in our government and the economy.  We are always hearing from medical professionals that we need to “change” something in our diets (which we usually find out the next year that it causes cancer).  We hear that the church needs “change” whether it’s the battle from traditional to contemporary or it’s the color of the carpet.  We hear that we need “change” in our ideas and opinions, that we need to be more “enlightened.”

What is change?  One of Webster’s definitions is to give a different position, course, or direction to.  Or, my personal favorite, to make radically different or transform. Now, I do believe that there should be change in the areas I mentioned before.  I just have a different opinion of what that change should be.  But, as a Christian, there is one change that means more than any other. I am thankful for the “change” Jesus made in my life.  And, yes, it should make me radically different.  Different in how I talk.  Different in how I walk.  Different in how I think.  Different in how I live.  Different in how I love.  Different in how I worship.  Radically different from this world!  If we would all experience the change that Jesus brings, the others would fall right into place.  So, pray.  Pray for the “changes” that need to be made in the lives of men and women all over this world.  Pray for God to change their hearts, which will change their minds, which will change our world!
